Wake to the sound of waves and step out onto the sand for a nice stretch! After a tropical breakfast, you will join your local guide on bicycle and head to Nungwi Village for a half-day tour. This is a great opportunity to get in touch with the daily village life and explore the northern part of Zanzibar in a sportive way. On your first stop, you will visit the Mnarani Turtle Conservation Project, a local NGO that provides shelter and protection to Hawksbill Turtles as well as the endangered Green Turtles. The aquarium itself is a natural pool carved out from the coral bedrock by the erosion of millions of waves crashing against the shore. The water rises and falls with the tides, providing a natural environment for its inhabitants. Continue to Cycle through rural villages, explore Portuguese ruins dating back to the sixteenth century, swim in tidal, half-fresh half-salt, clear water cave, try your hand at being a blacksmith (local style), and adventure through recently discovered stunning coral caves filled with stalagmite and stalactite crystal rocks. At the end of the tour, see how Nungwi’s dhow (traditional wooden sailboat) builders are famous for their craft, watching them at work not far from the ocean. You will see dhows in all phases of their construction and learn about the whole process, from the sourcing of the wood, the joints used, to the rituals of launching a new dhow. After returning to Zuri for lunch, you can relax at the lodge, engaging in lodge activities as you wish. Today could be a good day to opt for a massage or treatment at Zuri’s Maua Wellness spa. In the evening, enjoy an evening yoga practice followed by dinner and relaxation.

You will then sail 20 minutes from Kitchwani Reef to the Mnemba Coral Gardens. Here you will snorkel for 45 minutes to 1 hour. These coral gardens are home to many species of aquarium fish and stunning soft and hard corals.
